Lanarkshire wedding celebrant is finalist in prestigious industry awards

A humanist celebrant has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's Scottish Wedding Award.

George McLean, a popular celebrant from Coatbridge, is in the running for in the 'celebrant of the year' category.

George, from Fuze Ceremonies, will find out if he will be crowned a winner at the elegant ceremony to take place Glasgow's Marriott Hotel on Wednesday.

He told Lanarkshire Live : “I am absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this award.

"I can’t thank all my couples enough for voting for me, leaving amazing Trustpilot reviews and send so many messages of support for my bid.

"I became a humanist celebrant following taking part in my middle daughter Holly’s ceremony back in 2016.

"From then I was hooked, went through the rigorous training and mentor programme, and became a celebrant with Fuze Ceremonies.

"This year is especially meaningful as I get to not only walk my youngest daughter Caitlin down the aisle in December, but glide into position to conduct her and fiancé Callum’s wedding ceremony.

"An incredible honour.

"Whatever happens on the awards night, I feel like a winner for making it a finalist”.
