Lanarkshire village's 'most recognised and iconic' home goes on the market for £1.5m

An 'iconic' home in a Lanarkshire village has gone on the market for £1.5m - and it's pretty impressive.

Estate agents say the huge four-bedroom property in Bothwell is the 'most recognised' in the area - thanks to its unique design and commanding spot on Croftbank Avenue.

The current owners commissioned the impressive property, which spans 8700 sq ft, with craftsmen from across the world brought in to apply their trades and expertise.

There have been design influences from several countries incorporated throughout the home from Spain, Italy, America, and the Far East.

It even has a swimming pool, cinema, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and a wine cellar - what more could you want?

However potential homeowners will have to have an acquired taste, as much of the luxurious decor and finishing touches are extravagant, to say the least.

Upon entering, you are greeted by a bespoke, sweeping staircase and feature balustrade, which creates an impact with visitors.

The ground floor comprises a reception vestibule, grand galleried hall, several cloakrooms/wc's, a large formal lounge, a family lounge, and a kitchen and utility room.

There is the added bonus of a large cinema room and a conservatory to relax in with brilliant countryside views.

To one side of the extensive, detached property lies a health suite, with a large heated indoor pool, changing rooms, gym, sauna, bar and a lounge area.

It also comes with a jacuzzi surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the outdoors, and a steam room.

The spacious bathrooms and en-suites, of which there are seven in total, are finished with marble tiling and gold fixtures and fittings, creating a decadent aesthetic.

The upper floor has a galleried landing, master bedroom with en-suite, walk-in dressing room and further lounge suite (or additional bedroom,) and additional bedrooms with en-suites and balconies.

From the garden, there is a garden lounge and access to a purpose-built wine cellar. The gardens and plot are sizeable with the front finished in hard landscaping, suitable for parking. The private rear gardens have terraces, balconies, lawns and fencing.

Integral to the house is a double garage.

Features also include an air conditioning system, CCTV security, double glazing, gas central heating and an abundance of built in storage.
