Musical comedy fans are in for a treat this month when award-winning musical Nunsense comes to East Kilbride Arts Centre.
Studio32 Theatre Company will stage the hilarious show from Wednesday, March 23 to Saturday, 26.
Nunsense: The Mega-Musical version has all the fun of the original Nunsense, but super-sized, starring the original five nuns plus new characters, including the never-before-seen infamous convent cook, Sister Julia, Child of God.
The winner of four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including best Off-Broadway musical and Best Music, was called "A hail of fun and frolic" by The New York Times. It would be a sin to pass up the opportunity to see it.
Written by Dan Goggin, the show started life as a line of greetings cards. The comedy follows the story of the Little Sisters of Hoboken in their benefit to raise funds and bury four dead sisters, currently resting in the convent freezer.
Director Gerry Kernan said: “Nunsense is one of the funniest shows I have ever directed, I can’t wait to see our audiences’ reactions. It’s hilarious and a perfect gift for Mother’s Day.”
Studio32 president and cast member Vikki England added: “We haven’t been able to put on shows for the last couple of years, due to the pandemic, it’s great to be back in the theatre, especially with such a fun and hilarious show.
"Everyone needs a laugh out loud night and this show will deliver.”
