A Blantyre teen murdered 11 years ago has been remembered on the anniversary of his death.
Reamonn Gormley was stabbed to death in an attempted street robbery while walking home from the Parkville Hotel on February 1, 2011.
The much-loved 19-year-old is missed by many near and far, including the staff and pupils of a specialist school in Thailand at which he volunteered.
Reamonn spent time at the Good Child Foundation - a Thai-based school for children with Down's Syndrome - during a gap year.
And today (Tuesday), the school paid tribute to the former St John Ogilvie High pupil on their Facebook page.
Due to their love of Celtic FC, whom Reamonn also supported, pupils there are affectionately known as the Thai Tims.
Staff posted on their Facebook page: "Today is the eleventh anniversary of the tragic death of Reamonn Gormley.
"You'll Never Walk Alone."
The school, set up by Paul Lennon and his wife Pun, is based in the Chanthaburi province of Thailand.
During a gap year from university in 2010, Celtic-mad Reamonn had gone to volunteer with the foundation and won the hearts of everyone there through his work and dedication.
The pupils and staff there have often remembered Reamonn over the years and indeed even have a purpose-built art room in memory of the him.
A short while after his death, the children of the Good Child Foundation came to visit Blantyre to pay their respects to Reamonn and his family.
Meawnhile, Blantyre Soccer Academy also paid tribute to the teenager
They posted on social media: "Eleven years ago today we lost Reamonn Gormley in tragic circumstances.
"We shall remember him this year once more with our Reamonn Gormley Memorial Soccer Festival (RGMSF). Gone but not forgotten (GBNF)."
The soccer festival is due to take place over several dates in May and June following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic.
