A Hamilton supermarket and petrol station were evacuated over fears of a gas leak at the weekend.
Morrisons superstore were forced to call in the emergency services after suspecting the potential hazard on Sunday afternoon.
Staff and shoppers at the New Park Street store were quickly escorted to safety, while police closed off roads leading to the store.
South Lanarkshire Council notified Lanarkshire residents of the closure via their social media channels posting: "New Park Street and Auchinraith Avenue, Hamilton, are closed due to a Police incident at Morrisons. Local diversions in place."
It is the second time in two months that customers and staff at the Hamilton shop have been evacuated over gas safety fears at the sight.
A Morrisons spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : "As a precautionary measure we evacuated our store and contacted the fire service regarding a suspected leak at our petrol station.
"An engineer attended and no fault was detected, so the fire service advised us to reopen our store."
A Police Scotland spokesman told us : “At around 12.50pm on Sunday, August 21, we were asked to assist the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service with an evacuation and road closure at Morrisons Petrol Station, New Park Street, Hamilton, due to a possible gas leak.
“The road reopened at 1.40pm.”
