Lanarkshire stunner's 'delight' at being crowned Miss Great Britain

Hamilton stunner Amy Meisak said she "can’t blooming believe" she has been crowned Miss Great Britain.

The beauty queen stole the show at the national finals held in Leicester last week, receiving her stunning jewelled tiara and winners sash from Miss Great Britain 2021/22 Eden McAllister.

Property investor and entreprenuer Amy beat 37 finalists to win the prestigious title at the pageant competition.

And in a competition first Amy's stunning mum Laurie also competed, coming first runner-up in the Miss Great Britain Classic for over-45s.

This title win was all the more special to Amy after entering the Miss Universe Great Britain pageant for three years in a row but never actually winning, leaving her feeling like she was "always the bridesmaid."

The 29-year-old is no novice in the beauty world, previously being a finalist in Miss Scotland back in 2016 as well as winning many pageants and representing her country at the finals of beauty contests around the world.

But now she is absolutely delighted at being crowned Miss GB 2022/23 and is looking forward to representing the UK in the year ahead.

Amy, who was diagnosed with incurable auto-immune disorder Lupus earlier this year, told Lanarkshire Live : "Being involved in pageants has given me everything from best friends to a support network and a team of cheerleaders who build you up and encourage you to 'go for it'.

"Even if they are in the same competition. But that’s what pageants are all about.

"They are a sisterhood and a real strong community and I can’t explain how blessed I feel to be a part of it."

She added: "I attempted Miss Universe Great Britain three years in a row, put my heart and soul into it but never won the title.

"It just goes to show stick to your vision and stay strong, because hard work and perseverance pays off.

"Look at me, three attempts and never got it. Sometimes things happen for a reason and it was all meant to be

"I can’t blooming believe I am Miss GB."

Welcoming women of all backgrounds, Amy won the title after taking part in interviews and walking in swimwear and evening wear.
