Lanarkshire schoolkids enjoy Kool Ride to School after winning comp

A group of East Kilbride school children enjoyed a Kool Ride to School recently after scooping a much-coveted prize.

Natalie Dardis' children, Leon and Theo, won the Clyde 1 competition where they and up to 12 friends joined them on the new platinum bus from Clyde Valley Limos.

The Hunter Primary pupils also went live on air with top DJ George Bowie.

Mum Natalie told Lanarkshire Live: "I entered the competition online a few months ago and I got a phone call last Sunday.

"I nearly never answered it as it had no caller ID - but it was Clyde 1 saying Theo and Leon had won the Kool Ride to School and George Bowie would like to speak to them on the Monday morning.

"The boys were up early excited to be on the radio. They were allowed to have up to 12 friends join them on the platinum bus limo.

"It picked us all up on St Leonards Road as it was too big to fit in the street!

"Michael from Clyde 1 was there waiting for us and welcomed everyone on, then the boys got to be on air on Clyde 1 again. "

Natalie added: "We had Thomas, Charlotte, Matthew, Lewis , Kayla, Rhys, Charlie, Harrison, Poppy, Gordon, Miryn and Thomas and Charlotte's mum Julie.

"The boys were given fake champagne and shown how to work the iPad to choose their tunes.

"The driver was lovely and said the kids could dance on the seats and swing round the poles which they loved.

There was even fake champagne flowing (EKN)

"The bus dropped us off just In time for school and Theo and Leon’s teachers were there to see them coming off the bus as they had spoke about it non-stop since the Monday.

"It was a fantastic experience and the lovely driver even drove myself and a couple of others home in the bus."
