Lanarkshire school to host first Christmas fair in three years

A Lanarkshire school is set to host its first Christmas fair in three years with top festive bargains on offer and a visit from Santa Claus himself.

Due to the COVID pandemic, Clarkston Primary's parents' and teachers' association (PTA) was unable to delivers its winter wonderland spectacular to the children during the past few years.

But the exciting extravaganza is back with a bang as lots of cracking Christmas treats are on the agenda when the fayre takes place at the school on Tuesday, December 6, from 3pm to 5pm.

A PTA spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : "Although understandable, it was really sad and frustrating to be unable to hold our Christmas fair these past couple of years.

"However, we are delighted to be back and have a whole host of festive-themed activities and treats for everyone who comes along.

"The fair will be a wonderful opportunity to grab some Christmas bargains with craft stalls selling a variety of goods including cupcakes, Christmas decorations, comic books, toys, bath bombs, pet products and jewellery, while we will have a caricature artist as well as gifts made by our very own pupils.

"Our gift tombola and bottle stall will have amazing prizes on offer and our raffles this year includes the chance to win a Nintendo Switch Pokémon edition, a Christmas Eve hamper and front row VIP seats for our Christmas concerts.

"Children will be entertained with a range of fun games - adults can join in too - and there will be a kids lucky dip where evbery purchase wins a prize.

"If the kids wish they can have a glitter tattoo, decorate their own hot chocolate drinks and, of course, visit our fabulous Santa’s grotto.

"We are so looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our fair and can't wait to see you there."
