There was a real buzz about Rutherglen’s first biodiversity festival.
Hundreds of locals backed Buzzfest when it took place earlier this month.
Organisers wanted residents to learn more about biodiversity and reduce loneliness within the community.
Live music, storytelling and face painting were just some of the fun activities that took place at Overtoun Park.
The festival was organised by Grow 73 in collaboration with other community groups.
Grow 73 posted thanks via their Facebook page, saying: “We have done it. Thank you to all our community, our fantastic volunteers, our partners, and our fantastic storyteller and face painter. A thank you to our lovely bee mascot.
“Over 600 people turned up to the event and so did the weather.”

A spokesperson for R:evolve Recycle, one of the community groups that helped, told Lanarkshire Live: “We were delighted to team up with our friends at Grow 73 to support them with this year’s Buzzfest Big Lunch.
“They do so well every year to organise a Big Lunch in Overtoun Park and this year we wanted to help them make it even bigger, utilising the fantastic space they have within the park and getting some of our loyal R:evolve members to join in the fun.
“We already have next year’s planning meeting in the diary and can’t wait to see where we can take this annual event.”
