Lanarkshire rockers prepare to perform at iconic venue

A Lanarkshire rock band is gearing up to play at one of Scotland's most famous music venues this summer.

Glass Raspberry will perform at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on August 18, as part of the venue's Summer Nights gigging jamboree.

The four-piece, from Cambuslang and East Kilbride and comprising singer Rebecca Burns, guitarist Paul Curran, bassist Michael Farrell and drummer Tamas Peto, has released a number of singles in the past couple of years while becoming regulars on the Scottish gigging scene.

Now they will get to appear at King Tut's, the venue where Oasis made their breakthrough, and which has hosted the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Paolo Nutini and The Killers over the years.

Summer Nights will run over 27 nights throughout the summer months of July and August with 109 acts playing in total.

Since the outset when the festival was founded in 2011, Summer Nights has been focused around highlighting the finest grassroots talent in Scotland.

Among other acts booked this year are singer-songwriter and TikTok sensation Calum Bowie, laptop rock duo MEMES, psychedelic trio Miracle Glass Company and synth-pop band Echo Machine.

Chris Loomes, the booker of King Tut's Summer Nights, at DF Concerts & Events said: “Scotland’s music scene is still thriving and we’re really excited to launch this year’s edition of King Tut’s Summer Nights Festival.

"With over 100 of the most exciting new artists coming out of Scotland set to play across 7 weeks this summer, it is bound to be another amazing run of shows."
