Lanarkshire residents urged not to be alarmed by 'unusual sights or sounds' near university

Hamilton residents are being urged not to worry if they hear any unusual sights and sounds today near the University of the West of Scotland.

For the University's Paramedic Society's students have been taking part in a simulation all day using the outdoor visitor car park in Hamilton International Technology Park.

The University announced on their social media channels today: " Lanarkshire campus: if you’re at UWS Lanarkshire campus today, be aware that our UWS Paramedic Society students will be taking part in a simulation, using the outdoor visitor car park – so if you see any unusual sights and sounds, don’t worry, it’s all part of the event!"

Hamilton West and Earnock, Councillor Mark McGeever, posted on Facebook, earlier today: "Paramedic students at UWS Lanarkshire are doing a training exercise today. The uni wants to let people know not to worry if we hear/see anything unusual or dramatic. Hope everyone involved enjoys and takes a lot from the experience."
