Worried residents are at the end of their tether after a spike in antisocial behaviour in a Wishaw street.
Those living in and around Coldstream Crescent have spoken out over the problems which have arose over the past few weeks.
A worried Coltness woman, who asked not to be named, told Lanarkshire Live : “The block of flats is horrendous.
“People are fighting all the time, they are drinking and smoking who knows what just outside the blocks.
“There’s videos circulating and you can see what they are up to.
“The council are failing the good people who live in there. There is something wrong with the points system when people are stuck in there for years.
“The antisocial behaviour team have been out but nothing ever seems to get done. I know one resident who called them four times in a week but you’ve still got chaos there.”
Last week, a man was arrested following an altercation at the block of flats while another individual was taken to hospital.
Residents have also taken their concerns to members of Coltness Community Council.
The group’s chairman John Carr told us : “The trouble seems to be escalating and it’s worrying for those who live nearby.
“People are moving in there who have been moved out of other areas and stuck in those flats.
"The council seem to just put them in there and not worry about the other people in the block and those who live nearby.
“There seems to be nothing we can do. I’ve heard a few people calling it the ‘the block from hell’ which says it all.”
A council spokesman said: “Our housing services teams have been working with residents, elected members and Police Scotland to address concerns about antisocial behaviour in Coldstream Crescent and final warnings have been issued to two properties.
"This work is ongoing and a meeting is scheduled with another resident to discuss their situation.
“We would encourage any residents with a complaint to contact the council’s Anti Social Response Team on 0300 123 1382 and Police Scotland on 101.”
