Busy pupils from a Coatbridge school got a preview of life in the workplace and made a splash at a Lanarkshire leisure facility.
Buchanan High youngsters were first invited along to the town’s New College Lanarkshire campus to take part in an event aimed at engaging them with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects.
The lucky pupils got to speak with a wide range of employers and take part in practical workshops.
A Buchanan High spokeswoman told Lanarkshire Live : “The event at the college was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance, giving them an insight into the breadth of STEM subjects.
“The pupils really enjoyed speaking to employers and embraced the fun and challenges of the practical workshops.
“It gave them a lot to think about in terms of possible future education and employment.”
And another group of students from the school then made waves at Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride.
Bartek Kostecki, Sarah Gray, David McGill, Sean Craighead, Ryan Cairney, Kyle Grant and Stuart Ferguson were involved in the West of Scotland time trials swimming event run by Disability Sport Glasgow.
The Buchanan High spokeswoman added: “Our youngsters really loved taking part and took home an array of medals, which they, and we, are very proud of.
“Congratulations to everyone involved, and thanks go to Disability Sport Glasgow for organising the event.”
