Lanarkshire Pub of The Year - is the Staging Post your favourite local?

The finalists for the Lanarkshire Live Pub of The Year competition are in.

Hundreds of votes were cast for our inaugural competition, highlighting the importance of a good local to our readers and communities.

Our very merry band of secret shoppers were delighted to embark on their covert, boozy mission to put a final nail in the coffin of any residing New Year’s resolutions, partaking in a few pints, glasses of wines and halves on the fly along the way.

And having submitted their comprehensive reviews of the leading favourites – marking them from one to ten in 10 different categories – we can now reveal your top 10 favourite boozers.

And that includes the much-loved Staging Post in Airdrie.

A bit of a hard find, the Staging Post is worth seeking out as it offers something for all the family.

Slightly hidden for first timers, the Anderson Street venue may look like a traditional pub from days gone by, but inside it boasts a modern feel and warm welcome.

Since the start of the year, there have been plenty of entertainment nights, including a Bounce Bingo event, which appeals to those with interest in clubland classics and EDM style music.

Whilst modern, it will soon undergo a refurb, closing its doors on March 7 for a short time.

There were plenty of families in the restaurant when we popped in for a visit, showing its high standing amongst locals.

A pint comes in at around £3 in some cases while there’s a range of cocktails and wine on offer.

They have introduced a Just Eat delivery service which is handy for potential customers, with a full menu on offer – they even deliver alcohol as part of this, including a full bottle of Buckfast.

Phone in advance of attending the restaurant.

And now it’s back over to you.

We need you to vote one last time for the pub you think should be crowned Pub of The Year for 2022 and be in with a shout of winning a £50 bar tab on us!

Simply vote using the jotform below by no later than 12pm on Wednesday, March 2.

We’ll announce our winner on Friday, March 2.
