Rutherglen Rotary Club had a blooming marvellous day when a plant sale raised more than £3000.

The popular event took place on Saturday, May 28, to the delight of residents and visitors

Many eager gardeners lined up before the 10am start time to get first pick of the plants.

“The event began at 9.45am and finished at 1.15pm.

“Eleven rotary members and their families helped from very early in the morning. We would also like to say thanks to the United Reform Church.

“We are of course extremely grateful to our generous sponsors, Fosters Family Funeral Directors and Reynards Nursery Carluke.

“The amount raised for the club's charity funds exceeded £3000.

“It was a great result and a lot of enjoyment.”
