Lanarkshire novelist lands number one best seller on Amazon

A Bellshill novelist has landed a number one best seller on online buying platform Amazon.

Sophie Gravia, the bestselling author of 'A Glasgow Kiss', celebrated her second novel 'What Happens in Dubai' also hitting the top spot during a special launch party last weekend.

The NHS nurse and single mum-of-two from Bellshill joined 200 of her friends, family and colleagues at the Corinthian in Glasgow where everyone toasted to her success.

The 31 year-old’s writing career is certainly taking off with two best-selling erotic fiction titles now available to buy with 'What Happens in Dubai’, which was released earlier this month still placed no1 in the charts.

During the party the author also took part in a 30 minute question and answer session where she entertained the audience with excerpts from her own life that didn’t make either of her books!

Sophie told Lanarkshire Live : “I had the best day celebrating the launch of my second book.

"It was so overwhelming to see so many people supporting the book and it's like a dream come true to see it top the charts again!"

Currently working on her third novel, which continues the outrageously funny dating disasters of lead character Zara, Sophie's first book has sparked interest from a number of TV production companies.

Pal Heather Suttie, who hosted the launch party, said: “Sophie’s book has become a cult classic and What Happens in Dubai has already had hundreds of five star reviews, she’s a total star.

"She’s the Scottish Bridget Jones with a dish of Jackie Collins!"

Sophie Gravia’s What Happens in Dubai is available from Amazon and signed copies are available from Waterstones Glasgow Fort, Sauchiehall Street, Argyle Street and Silverburn.
