A Lanarkshire MSP is sponsoring a Scottish Parliament exhibition for the Open University.
Motherwell and Wishaw MSP Clare Adamson wants constituents to consider a course through the OU.
Ms Adamson said: “The Open University is a fantastic institution providing a wealth of opportunities for individuals at every stage of life.
“I would encourage my constituents in Motherwell and Wishaw and anyone across Scotland to look into the courses they offer.
“Through a platform of distance learning, you can learn new skills in a more flexible environment that fits your circumstances.
“Lifelong learning is key to ensuring that people are given opportunities to change or progress their careers and fulfill their ambitions.
“I am so glad to have the OU in the Scottish Parliament to promote everything they have to offer.”
The OU is currently one of the largest universities in the UK and Europe in terms of student size, with 205,000 students and over 1.2 million teachers having benefitted from OU’s Teacher Education in Sub-Saharan Africa (TESSA) project.
They have then gone on to assist over two million students gain a form of qualification since the university’s inception in 1969.
Keith Robson from the OU said: “We’re delighted to be back in the parliament talking to MSPs about the work of The Open University and the opportunities available to their constituents.
“The OU provides new skills and life-changing learning to people across Scotland with an open access approach that welcomes students from all ages and backgrounds, even if you don’t have the standard university entry qualifications.”
