Airdrie and Shotts MSP Neil Gray paid a visit to pupils at St Mary's Primary in Caldercruix to talk to them about his new ministerial role.
The newly appointed Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development joined a question and answer session with primary six and seven pupils at the school yesterday, where he answered all of the youngsters well thought out questions on his new role and the government.
He decided to pay and impromptu visit to the school after he spotted their recent tweet about the debate on the school's Twitter page.
The youngsters were delighted when Mr Gray took time out of his schedule to take part in their political debate as they have been recently learning about the topics of government and Parliament in class.
Class teacher, Catrina Craig, told Lanarkshire Live: “We were delighted when Mr Gray saw our tweet about our class debate.
"He offered to visit and answer any questions that the children may have.
"It was a very informative visit and we thank Mr Gray for fitting us into his busy schedule."
