Lanarkshire motorists to be hit with series of roadworks over next month

Motorists in one Lanarkshire town will have to contend with a series of roadworks over the next few weeks.

Shotts residents will have to put up with four separate closures in the coming weeks with the first starting next Monday.

From Monday, April 25, to Friday, April 29, Springhill Road and Leadloch Road will be closed to allow utility connection testing associated with an adjacent new development.

Vehicular and pedestrian access will be permitted where practical during the closure.

From May 2 to May 6, Thomson Terrace will be closed for roadworks with Scottish Power improvement works the reason for the closure.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing access to the east side of the closure should proceed via Thomson Terrace, Baton Road, Minard Road and St Catherine’s Crescent.

Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

On Wednesday, May 4, Cemetery Road will be shut for telecommunication network improvement works.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing access to the east side of the closure should proceed via Torbothie Road, Main Street (B7010), Springhill Road (B7010) and Tulloch Road.

Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access to the west side of the closure should proceed vice versa.

Finally, on May 13 Springbank Road will be shut for Scottish Water improvement works to be completed.
