Lanarkshire motorists facing disruption from this weekend because of road closure

Motorists in Wishaw will have to deal with a week-long temporary road closure.

Waverley Drive in the town, from the junction with Ryde Road, will have roadworks taking place from Saturday, October 15, to Sunday, October 23, due to the upgrade of residential gas supplies.

Vehicles on the west side of the closure wishing to access the east side of the closure should proceed via Ryde Road, A722 Kirk Road, Coltness Road and Waverley Drive.

Vehicles on the east side of the closure wishing access the west side of closure should proceed vice versa. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during the closure.

Vehicular access to properties will be maintained, where practicable, during the closure.

Meanwhile, those living in Allanton will also have to contend with a closure later this week.

Dura Road in the village will have a temporary closure from October 17 to 21 from its junction with Hartfield Terrace southwards to its junction with Daviesdyke Road.

The closure is for carriage resurfacing works to be carried with vehicular and pedestrian access will be permitted where practical.

Vehicles on the north side of the closure wishing access to the south side of the closure should proceed via Dura Road, A71 Allanton Road, Coltness Avenue, Mill Road, Daviesdyke Road and Dura Road.

Vehicles on the south side of the closure wishing access to the north side of the closure should proceed vice versa.
