Lanarkshire man jailed for spitting blood and phlegm at a police officer

A Pather man who spat blood and phlegm at a police officer has been jailed for 15 months.

Kenneth Adam threatened PC Scott Alexander and spat at him, causing the bodily fluids to land on his head, hair and body.

The incident happened in Glasgow Road, Wishaw, on October 17, 2020.

Adam, 35, of Lomond Drive, denied the allegation, but a jury found him guilty after trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

He was also convicted of shouting abuse and threats en route to and at Motherwell police station.
