A serial offender broke down in tears after he was caught with child sex abuse videos.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard that John Irvine told police officers 'I'm sorry man. I've f....d up again'.
Irvine, 33, of Violet Place, Holytown, admitted downloading indecent images of children between January 3 and 12 this year.
Aga Mathieson, prosecuting, said the accused and his partner were present at his home when police officers arrived with a search warrant.
Child abuse videos were found on two USB sticks that he had in his pockets.
There were 46 in total and 34 of them were in the most serious category.
Irvine spent eight days in custody after his arrest before being granted bail with special conditions.
Sheriff Colin Dunipace noted that this is his third conviction for similar offending.
The court heard that Irvine is currently working with social workers on a programme for sex offenders following his last conviction.
Sentence was deferred until next month for background reports and a risk assessment.
Sheriff Dunipac allowed Irvine to remain on bail but warned: "I'll consider all options."
