A casualty spat blood and saliva into the face of a police officer who'd been called out to help her.
Emma McCreadie had blood streaming down her face after an alleged disturbance, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard this week.
McCreadie, 22, of Motherwell Road, Bellshill, admitted assaulting PC Matthew Creechan by spitting at him on Kirklee Road, Mossend.
Allegations that she smashed a bottle, damaged items in a house and resisted arrest were dropped.
The court heard police were called out shortly before 11pm on December 18, 2020, as people were concerned for McCreadie's welfare.
Jennifer Cunningham, prosecuting, said: "She was smelling strongly of alcohol and bleeding heavily from the head and nose. She also had a superficial cut to her neck.
"Police officers tried to speak to her, but she became agitated and aggressive towards them.
"They explained they were there to help her and she was warned regarding her conduct.
"The officers tried to take hold of the accused but she turned and spat blood and saliva directly into PC Creechan's face."
McCreadie was taken to hospital for treatment to her injuries before being transferred to Motherwell police station.
PC Creechan also needed hospital treatment. He had his eye cleaned and had to take a course of medication.
But the fiscal stressed: "He did not contract Covid-19 as a result."
Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen told McCreadie, who has no previous convictions, that such conduct during the pandemic was "a serious matter".
Sentence was deferred until next month for a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment.
McCreadie's bail was continued.
