After stubbornly digging his heels in this week, Boris Johnson has resigned as the leader of the Conservative Party.
It is a move many believe is long overdue and will see him give up office as Prime Minister later this year following a leadership campaign.
Following months of scandal - from the lobbying scandal with Owen Paterson, to 'partygate,' and suggestions that the Prime Minister once gave his girlfriend (now wife) Carrie Symonds a £100,000 salaried role in government, as well as PPE scandal in the face of the coronavirus pandemic - many were left amazed that Mr Johnson was still at the helm.
But there are plenty who wish he weren't - and today, they have finally gotten their way.
Over the last three days, more than 50 politicians have resigned from Cabinet in protest to the latest scandal - the Prime Minister's denial of prior knowledge to sexual harrassment allegations against Chris Pincher MP who was given the assistant party whip role.
It was a wave of objection to his leadership that not even the belligerent BoJo could overlook - despite his best efforts to do so.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak and Health Secretary Sajid Javid led the way on Tuesday, and soon it was like rats fleeing a sinking ship - although it was mooted at PMQs on Wednesday that it was more like the ship fleeing the rats.
So, now that the end is in sight, who should replace Boris Johnson as leader of the Tories and the Prime Minister of Britain, as they try to make it 'great' once again.
