A Lanarkshire property earned recognition at an industry awards ceremony.
Dawn Homes was commended for its Leven showhome at the Mayfield development in Glenmavis at the annual Herald property awards.
The four-bedroomed detached house, which has an open-plan kitchen and dining area, has been decorated with “pops of burnt orange and turquoise throughout” to create “a retro and stylish theme throughout the home”.
It was styled by interior designer Pauline Clark; and the developer – part of the Springfield Group – says the “tasteful and memorable decor accentuates the home”.
They add: “This simple yet effective approach allows visitors to look past the furnishings and fittings to the see the quality of the build and picture living in the home.”
Dawn Homes regional sales director Liz Cleghorn said: “The Leven is a beautifully designed house and, with our interior designer’s expert vision, is a remarkable showhome and we’re thrilled this has been recognised by our peers.”
The Airdrie site, off Windsor Drive in Glenmavis, will have 146 properties and its showhomes opened in February.
Planning permission for the development, at the former Pinwhinnie minerals site, was first granted three years ago; and also includes the installation of traffic-calming speed bumps along the residential access road.
Meanwhile, a new roundabout was installed at Raebog Road earlier this year to provide access to a separate development of 17 homes, while the speed limit on the busy main road has been reduced to 30mph.
