St Andrew's Hospice scooped a top prize in recognition of its most popular annual fundraising event at a recent awards ceremony.
The hospice's grand snowflake ball received the 'best use of event or community fundraising initiative' at the prestigious fundraising awards.
And the most-recent flagship event raised a record sum of £260,000 for the Lanarkshire hospice, which provides specialist care and support services for those living with a life-limiting illness and their loved ones.
The ball, which returned to the Doubletree by Hilton Glasgow Central last November for the first time since 2019, was hosted by comedian and broadcaster Des Clarke and featured performances from saxophonist Matthew Ruddy, Strathaven and District Pipe Band, and the band WooHoo, as well as a lively auction.
John Brady, head of fundraising at St Andrew’s Hospice, said: “I was absolutely delighted that the fundraisers who worked so hard on the Grand Snowflake Ball were recognised by their fellow fundraising professionals through this award.
“They created a wonderful event that was fun for everyone who attended and most importantly raised so much money to care for Lanarkshire patients and their families.
"Of course, we could not have raised so much money without the kind and generous support of Lanarkshire people, groups and businesses and their generosity makes a real impact for the people we serve.”
