Lanarkshire gym helps support children over Easter

Members at a Lanarkshire gym have helped children by working out even harder than usual.

Fortius Athletics in Cambuslang supported a children’s charity over the Easter weekend.

Members of the Crossfit gym took part in a gruelling workout written by one of their coaches, Steph Sinclair, in aid of collecting Easter eggs for Aberlour Children’s charity.

And the challenging workout was a huge success.

Nisha Purewal, head coach from Fortius, told how delighted she was about the team’s hard work as well as the support given from the community.

She told Lanarkshire Live : “It’s always been a goal for us to get involved with local charities and support other businesses within the community.

“Lockdown made it difficult for us to bring this to life, however, now that we’re back working out in a group environment, I’m excited to see what we can offer going forward.

“We have a supportive team in the gym who I’m incredibly proud of and who are always up for a challenge.”

Clare Young, service manager from Aberlour, added: ‘Thanks to the generosity of the team at Fortius Athletics Cambuslang, our family support service was able to distribute over 40 Easter eggs to children we support in the local area who otherwise would have gone without.”
