A Lanarkshire community group has celebrated the success of its recent fun day.
Burnhill Action Group had a great time organising the event last Saturday (July 30).
There was a lot to do on the day with a petting zoo, bouncy castles and games that all helped to raise money for the community.
Elizabeth McDonald, one of the organisers, told Lanarkshire Live : “The event was one of the most successful ones we’ve had so far.
"We had around 250 people that came along.
“The families enjoyed the day and the alpacas were a huge hit along with the rabbits and snakes.
“Our young people run a social enterprise programme and managed to raise over £500 working as the coffee crew.
“We celebrated our amazing young people by holding a presentation for them to let them know that we recognise and appreciate everything they have achieved.
“We hope now that more people know what our high backs project is that we will continue to keep the whole community involved in future developments.
“We are so happy to see families come along and enjoy the space as much as we do and hope to continue holding events.
“We’ve already started discussing our Christmas event.
“We took the opportunity to ask local people what they would like to see in their community. We had some amazing feedback and ideas that suit all ages and abilities.
“This is what true community ownership is all about. Making our ideas become reality is what our amazing young people do best.”
