Lanarkshire group steps in to donate new phone to children's charity

A Lanarkshire organisation was super-charged to come to the rescue when a local charity was in need of a new mobile phone.

When XACT/Airdrie & Coatbridge 41 Club discovered Bear Necessities' main phone its uses as its main contact number had been broken, members got together to buy them a new one.

Iain Jamieson of the club told Lanarkshire Live : "We always like to do our bit to support local community groups and organisations.

"Having a contact phone number is crucial for charities like Bear Necessities so as soon as we found out its phone was broken we decided to step in.

"Bear Necessities support families with baby and children essentials to ensure that no child goes without, from nappies and formula to stairgates and clothing and toys, for children aged 0-16 years.

"We were delighted to present the phone to Robyn Crainey of Bear Necessities and she expressed her gratitude."
