Margaret Tierney, from Wishaw, has been nominated for our Say It With Flowers competition by her grateful great granddaughter, Emmajane Tierney.
The selfless 82-year-old who lives in Overtown with her husband John was recognised for the award by her great granddaughter Emmajane for always being there and going above and beyond for her family.
Emmajane told Lanarkshire Live: “I have got four kids, Emily, Lacey, Lillyrose and Kian and my great gran is always out shopping with them and babysits them as well.
“I think for her age she is amazing. My wee girl Lillyrose goes shopping with her and goes along every Wednesday to her great great grandmother's especially for her homemad.e soup.”
And as well as supporting her great granddaughter Emmajane, Margaret is also devoted to her great great grandchildren and loves nothing better than spending time with them.
And when Emmajane told us about her amazing great grandmother Margaret, we were only too pleased to able to help out, surprising her with a stunning floral arrangement, courtesy of our friends at Pixies Petals in Newmains.
Emmajane told us: “I just wanted her to know how much we appreciate her. For an 82-year-old I think she is great.
“She is on the go all the time with my kids and always thinks of everyone else before herself.
“I think she will be quite surprised to receive the flowers and will be delighted as she will not be expecting this.
"She will be over the moon.”
