Bosses behind a new golfing experience coming to Lanarkshire say they hope non-golfers will get into the swing of things too.
The Topgolf complex on Duchess Place in Rutherglen is slated to open in the near future, with Lanarkshire Live understanding an official opening date is on the brink of being confirmed.
Chiefs at the new entertainment complex have now issued a list of top tips on how to make the most of a trip there, and are stressing it’s not just hardcore golfing fans who’ll find it is up to par.
They stated: “As the home of golf, Scots know a thing or two about the game but regardless of handicap, Topgolf is a modern take on the centuries old game and is designed for everyone to come play around.
“With plenty of games to choose from in a fun atmosphere, the venue seeks to bring together people from all walks of life under the umbrella of golfing.”
The venue will also have a rooftop bar, event spaces and HDTVs throughout.
Bosses added that the venue will bring innovative technology to a familiar game, pointing to the use of Toptracer technology, the ball-tracing technology used in major golf events and at driving ranges around the world.
Players can expect detailed feedback on their swing and understand golf in a way like they’ve never seen before.
They can also gain access to interactive games, such as the classic Topgolf target-based games, fan-favourite Angry Birds, or even some of the world’s most iconic courses in a virtual setting.
Topgolf currently operates over 70 venues across the world, and aims to combine both sports and entertainment.
Around 300 jobs have been created through the company’s new facility.
