A Lanarkshire funeral home has raised hundreds of pounds to help people affected by cancer.
The team at the Hamilton Co-op Funeralcare based at Quarry Street in the town centre have hailed their Macmillan Coffee Morning a huge success.
On the day, the event was opened by South Lanarkshire Depute Provost Bert Thomson, alongside local piper David Stark as members of the community turned out for the occasion.
Thanks to a host of fantastic donations, locals were able to enjoy a variety of cakes and treats while providing vital support to the national charity.
An impressive £500 was raised for the cause, and friends and family of everyone involved have been thanked for their incredible efforts during the event which took place on Friday, September 30.
Speaking after the coffee morning, a spokesperson from Hamilton Co-op Funeralcare told Lanarkshire Live: "It was a great success.
"The morning was opened by Depute Provost Bert Thomson and Piper David Stark.
"We raised £500 and would like to thank everyone who attended and a special thanks to Buchanan Printers, The Flower Box, Henderson Butchers, Violet and Ivy, Baynes Bakers, Denholm Bakers and Cakes Made With Love for helping make this a success."
Macmillan Cancer Support hold their official coffee mornings on September 30 throughout the country, but local communities are still able to host them whenever they like.
Last month the charity said: "Macmillan's funding comes directly from donations so we really can’t thank supporters enough for their incredible fundraising efforts.
"So please treat yourself to a cuppa, a slice of cake, or a savoury snack, and feel happy in the knowledge that you’re making a huge difference to the lives of those impacted by cancer.
"While the official coffee morning is today, Macmillan encourages everyone to take part however and whenever suits them best, and every single penny really does make a huge difference."
