Fosters Funeral Directors are looking to spread some much-needed cheer as they deliver Easter eggs to hundreds of vulnerable children across the country this month.
The company is ensuring over 750 youngsters will receive eggs by donating them to ten Women’s Aid refuge centres across Scotland. And that includes centres right here in Lanarkshrie.
As well as providing Easter eggs, they are also donating essentials such as toiletries and nappies for women and children seeking refuge from domestic abuse.
Nick McLaughlin, managing director of Fosters, told Lanarkshire Live : “These donations are just one small way that Fosters can give back to the communities that we have the privilege to serve.
"We hope our donation spreads some joy and brings a smile to the little ones faces when they receive their Easter Eggs.”
Women’s Aid - which provides information, support and temporary accommodation to women and children that have suffered domestic abuse - were excited to have help from Fosters.
Geri McGuire, senior for children and young persons service from Monklands Women’s Aid, told us : “We are so grateful to Foster Funeral Directors for choosing to support us again this Easter.
“The women, children and young people really benefit from these donations especially in the current climate where families are really struggling financially.
“Thanks to the kindness of people like Fosters Funeral Directors in assisting us to continue to make a difference in women, children and young people’s lives.”
And Loraine Harris, from South Lanarkshire Women’s Aid, added: “Having time and space to just be a child is so important for the children we work with.
"Easter chocolate gifts always feel special and magical and remind our families they are supported and safe.
“We are very grateful to Fosters for their support and I am sure our families will enjoy making happy Easter memories whilst enjoying their chocolate.”
