Lanarkshire drivers told to expect delays to enable major Scottish Water works

Motorists are being reminded about road traffic management in place to enable works on a £2.5m project to help reduce sewer flooding in Stonehouse village.

This next phase of the project requires a road closure on Townhead Street for three months starting Monday, August 29.

Traffic management, which has been agreed by South Lanarkshire Council, will be in place.

While local bus services will be affected, Scottish Water has worked together with SPT and local bus company Whitelaws to minimise disruption as far as possible.

A spokesman for Scottish Water told Lanarkshire Live : "We would like to thank road users and residents for their continued patience and understanding during these essential works."

More project information can be found online.
