Lanarkshire couple's shining love with diamond wedding anniversary

A Lanarkshire couple still have a shining love for each other after 60 years.

Frank and Rita Farrell recently celebrated their diamond wedding and remain as besotted with each other as when they first met decades ago at a mutual friend's wedding.

The couple marked the anniversary with a quiet celebration in Rutherglen.

Frank and Rita's granddaughter, Chiara McIntyre, told Lanarkshire Live : "They are just the nicest people and they still love each other so much.

"They were the best grandparents you could have growing up and they dote on all their children, grandchildren and now great grandchildren. It was at a friend's wedding where they first met and got on straight away."

The couple were married at St Philips RC Church in Glasgow on October 6, 1962 and have lived most of their lives in Rutherglen, where they raised their family.
