Police in Coatbridge have launched a frantic appeal to help trace two missing schoolgirls.
Poppy O’Hara and Zoe King were last seen in the Townhead Road area of the town around 2.15 pm on Tuesday (January 18).
And their families have told police how their disappearance completely “out of character”.
Speaking to Lanarkshire Live, Sergeant Steven Brown said: “He families of both girls are very concerned.
“It is really out of character for them to be missing for this length of time without making contact.
“It’s thought that they may have travelled to Glasgow as they have links throughout Glasgow and Lanarkshire.
“Officers have been checking CCTV in an effort to trace both girls and would appeal to anyone who may have seen either of them or anyone has information of their present whereabouts to get in touch immediately.”
Poppy is described as white, 5ft 3in, of slim build, with dark brown hair - she is said to have been wearing a black ‘Playboy’ hooded top, blue joggers and white shoes when last seen.
Zoe is described as white, 5ft 6in, slim build, brown hair usually tied in a ponytail, wearing black leather jacket, black leather trousers and Converse boots.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
