A Bothwell chuch has launched a new, free 'Warm Wednesday' initiative.
St Bride's chapel hall is welcoming members of the community to join them every Wednesday to tackle loneliness and isolation by getting together in a safe, warm and friendly environment for some lunch and good conversation.
People will enjoy homemade soup and a toastie with a cup of tea or coffee and good company between 12pm and 3pm.
The initiative also aims to help people during the current cost of living crisis by providing a free meal once a week to anyone who comes along.
Parish priest Father Hughes told Lanarkshire Live : "Warm Wednesday's Is an event taking place in St Bride’s Hall in Bothwell.
"As the name suggests it takes place the same day each week from 12pm until 3pm.

"This is an opportunity for those living in this locale to come together, enjoying each other’s company in a warm environment.
"The reasoning behind this is principally to let people meet after the isolation of COVID-19.
"Moreover, with the excessive cost of fuel/heating and food we can come together as a community and enjoy fresh soup and a sandwich.
"Everyone is most welcome."
