A Cambuslang chemist's move to bigger premises will provide a boost for the local area, according to the local community council.
Dickson Chemists have now opened a new pharmacy at 156 Main Street in the town, having previously been in smaller premises in the same area.
The family run business recently began developing hyperbaric therapy in some of their outlets, which is the same recuperative tool used by the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Justin Bieber.
The new store was opened by John Bachtler, the chairman of Cambuslang Community Council (CCC).
He told Lanarkshire Live : "I was very pleased to have been asked to cut the ribbon for the formal opening of the Dickson's pharmacy and to meet Stephen Dickson and the staff team.
"CCC are delighted that Dickson's investment in Cambuslang has ensured that the two pharmacies on which the community relies are continuing to provide a really important service.
"Dickson's are a family firm, which has been providing pharmacy services in the area for 40 years and whose owners live locally and now have a commitment to the town.
"During the formal opening, I greatly appreciated the opportunity to see the 'back office' operation, especially the new robot equipment for preparing blister packs.
"I also heard about the other innovations like automated dispensing and a hyperbaric oxygen tank in Dickson's pharmacies and which I am sure will be greatly valued by patients."
Stephen Dickson, the chemist's superintendent pharmacist, said: "We are delighted to be able to have someone from the local community council formally open our newly refurbished and relocated shop in Cambuslang."
