An East Kilbride charity are helping struggling families through the winter after securing a grant from a national foundation.
Share Alike applied to the Corra Foundation's winter fund and was awarded enough to give 110 families and vulnerable adults a £50 Morrisons voucher to help them through.
The Corra Foundation exists to make a difference to the lives of people and communities. It works with others to encourage positive change, opportunity, fairness and growth of aspirations which improve quality of life.
Generous customers at Morrisons Lindsayfield also donated via a giving tree during the festive period and donated £366.
Annmarie Campbell from the charity told Lanarkshire Live : "We've been distributing hats, scarfs and gloves - some knitted by members of the community and their craft club, whilst others were donated via Poundland's Cosy Kids appeal and donations generally from the community.
"New and second hand winter jackets all donated by supporters of the project have also been distributed to mostly to children in need around the town.
"After the last couple of years many more families have found themselves unable to cover basic costs never mind the extra expenses a Scottish winter can bring.
"We were delighted when we were successful with the winter fund application and put together with the warm clothing from the people of East Kilbride and the food staples our volunteers deliver daily.
"We truly hope that everybody's efforts help to ease the winter woes and associated increased costs for those most in need in EK."
