A Lanarkshire charity for older people has resumed its activities after being forced to shut down due to the latest wave of COVID.
The omicron outbreak in December, and concerns about the spread of the virus, meant that the Lightburn Elderly Association Project (LEAP) halted their January plans in line with government advice and restrictions.
However, they are now hoping to get back normal with a full February programme lined up.
Until the end of January, only LEAP’s online singing group had been able to “meet,” but that has changed in the past few days, with a return to a whole range of activities from Tai Chi to card making, and from IT support to table tennis.

She told Lanarkshire Live: “It was quite a wrench having to postpone our activities just before the festive season and I know a lot of our members were very disappointed.
“However, we now have our full programme starting up and some activities, such as our art classes and android tablets IT support.
“It’s really great to see everyone getting back together and I hope new members will come and join us. They will be more than welcome.”
The charity delivers support the over 50's in Blantyre, Bothwell, Cambuslang, East Kilbride, Hamilton, Rutherglen, Stonehouse, Strathaven and Uddingston.
