Lanarkshire care home worker 'extremely humbled' with national award win

A care home worker has received an award for all the hard work she does.

Rose Brennan is the events coordinator at Parksprings Care Home in Motherwell.

Rose has recently celebrated being named the winner of a Maria Mattaband and Countrywide Care Award, the awards ceremony for the company that operates Parksprings.

She had the honour of taking home the Outstanding Contribution award at the ceremony.

Speaking with Lanarkshire Live, she said: “I was so shocked, proud and just so humbled to be nominated for the Outstanding Contribution.

“I was speechless and bursting with pride. I told everyone I wouldn’t win so when they made the big announcement, I nearly fell off my chair.

“I was told by my colleagues my face was a picture, beaming smiles with emotional tears as it was so overwhelming.

“I felt so proud and so happy and so unbelievably emotionally touched by all the support and love from all the people who voted for me.

“I’m so lucky to be part of such a strong amazing team at Parksprings Care Home and I am so proud of our local community links.

“I will treasure this memory forever.”
