Brand new bio-tech technology has been rolled out to help with cleaning at a Lanarkshire care home.
Developed alongside NASA, the technology is now being used by Keane Premier Group in Georgia Park Care Home, Cambuslang.
The system will help to provide residents, families, and staff peace of mind about the cleanliness of the unit in light of the COVID pandemic
The bio-touch system works in three different phases, the first of which is the disinfection of all hard and soft surfaces
After this, bio-touch antimicrobial is approved and a signal application of this provides a permanent durable antimicrobial barrier on surfaces and textiles.
Finally, the system which was developed by NASA for the space program is the installation of the firm's Airsanifier.
This purifies the air, removing unwanted contaminants from any indoor environment.
The air purifiers are hugely successful at reducing 99.99% of viruses, toxins, allergens, odours, and many other substances.
A spokesman for Keane Premier Group told Lanarkshire Live : “We’re ‘over the moon' to have taken ‘one big step’ to provide our residents, families, and staff a huge improvement in their quality of life at Georgie Park.”
This installation was made in partnership with Room to Breathe, a Glasgow firm with over 20 years of experience in leading technology and giving people the opportunity for cleaner, safer environments.
Founder of the company, Gordon Bruce, told us : "We are delighted to be working with such a dynamic and progressive company, that take staff and residents health so seriously by implementing our system."
