Staff at Nationwide Building Society in Airdrie are used to crunching numbers but they surpassed themselves by adding up a superb total for St Andrew's Hospice.
The kind-hearted team raised just shy of £3000 for the hospice last year - taking their overall amount collected for the Airdrie facility since 2012 to a whopping £23,670.76.
Speaking about the building society's latest £2971 donation, branch manager Carol Fleming hailed the support provided by caring customers.
She told Lanarkshire Live : “I would like thank all our customers for their generosity over the past year.
"We are operating in difficult times but, once again, our members have gone above and beyond to support all of our charity events.
“Raising over £23,000 for the hospice overall is a phenomenal achievement. We have reached this through donations, book and cake sales, a 5K sponsored walk, raffles and by selling St Andrew’s Hospice merchandise.
“St Andrew’s will continue to be our chosen charity this year as it supports so many people in Lanarkshire and we are proud to support them.”
Lorna McCafferty, trusts, legacy and individual manager at St Andrew’s Hospice, added: “On behalf of the patients and families that we care for, I would like to thank Carol and her staff, as well the branch’s customers for continuing to fundraise for the hospice during the pandemic.
"We are so very grateful for their continued support.”
