Lanarkshire band Braw dreaming of the World Cup with new single

They've cheered Scotland on at the Euros - now football-mad Lanarkshire musical duo Braw are hoping to taste success at the World Cup.

The group, made up of brothers Iain and Andrew Mundy, released the track A Long Time Coming (We're Going to the EUROS) last year, backing Steve Clarke's men at the championships.

Now the Rutherglen outfit have kicked off again with When Scotland Called, ahead of the men's national team's crunch playoff against Ukraine at Hampden Park next month.

If the Scots can win that tie they'll face either Wales or Austria in the play-off final to decide who'll be heading to Qatar in November.

Iain told Lanarkshire Live: "Since the Euros song we've actually had loads of people asking us to do a Scotland song for the World Cup, so instead of waiting to see if we qualified, we thought we'd just go ahead and record a new song to try and help get the team to Qatar."

And there was some extra help from the Tartan Army during the song's inception, with supporters providing a host of images the folk-pop band could use along with the track.

The song itself shouts out 70 different parts of Scotland during it, including Rutherglen, and the brothers were keen to reflect that.

Iain added: "The music video actually features 221 photos submitted by the Tartan Army , going across 140 Scottish cities, towns and villages.

"This came about as there's a section of the song where we list around 70 Scottish places, so thought it would be really cool to reach out to the Tartan Army online to see if we could get a photo from a Scotland fan who lived in each place for the video.

"We were completely overwhelmed by all the photos we received, from Stranraer all the way to Wick, but we somehow managed to squeeze them all in."

The single is released this Friday (February 25) though streaming outlets, while the music video will go live on YouTube from 6pm on the same day.

Scotland play Ukraine at Hampden on March 24.
