Thirteen Lanark ASC swimmers represented their respective schools at the South Lanarkshire Schools Championships at Larkhall Leisure Centre – claiming an impressive 27 prizes.
Eleven of the swimmers won 17 titles, eight silver and two bronze medals between them.
In the 11 and under age group Emily Taylor (Carstairs Primary) won the 50m butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle.
Imogen Siebers (Carnwath Primary) was second in the backstroke and third in the freestyle, while Erin Purdon (Law PS) was 6th in the freestyle.
Evi Mackie (12/13) won gold in the 200m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 200m IM.
In the 14/15 age group, Carluke High’s Abbie Barnstaple won the 100m and 200m butterfly. Katie Towers (Lanark Grammar) won a trio of silver medals in the 100m and 200m breaststroke and 100m freestyle. Fellow Lanark Grammar pupil Craig Shaw won gold in the 100m breaststroke and second in the 200m breaststroke.
Alex Douglas (Carluke High) was 8th in the 100m backstroke and 10th in the 100m freestyle.
The 16 years and over age group swimmers also enjoyed success. Lesmahagow High’s Millie McArthur won 3 titles; 100m backstroke and 100m and 200m freestyle.
Ross Carswell (Carluke High) won the 200m IM and was second in the 100m butterfly.
Benji Jones, also from Carluke, won both the 100m and 200m breaststroke and was third in the 100m freestyle.
The Biggar High School duo of Euan McLeod and Ian Henderson were also among the medals. Euan won the 100m butterfly and freestyle and was second in the 200m freestyle. Ian was second in the 200m breaststroke.
Lanark ASC coach Karen Kelly said: “Our swimmers were a credit to their schools.
“Emily is now the fastest ever 10-year-old in the history of the club over 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle.
“The medal success by our swimmers was over the four strokes and IM, which was very pleasing. The schools should be proud of their pupils.”
