Lana Del Rey UNRECOGNISABLE with platinum blonde hair as she returns to the stage

American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey looks totally unrecognisable after undergoing a faux hair transformation.

The alternative-pop singer, 37, looked worlds away from the brunette beauty her fans know and love when she stepped out on-stage donning a platinum blonde wig.

Performing solo for the first time in three years, Lana looked sensational while crooning her hits at the Mita Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this weekend.

Looking sultry and akin to Marilyn Monroe, Lana could be seen sporting a voluminous platinum blonde wig that concealed her natural brunette locks.

Sizzling up a storm while on-stage, Lana wore a black button-up blouse, a black midi-length skirt and some heels with what looked like feather embellishments on the front strap.

The Summertime Sadness singer completed her classic look, which was incredibly reminiscent of old Hollywood glamour, with some gold earrings and bracelets.

She sported a soft makeup look which comprised of a smokey-eye look on her lids and a pale pink hue on her lips.

Usually Lana sports her natural hair colour of brunette, which she tends to wear down and in a straight or loosely curled style - which is why this new look is a huge change for the star.

Lana's first solo performance has happened just weeks after her return to the stage last month, which saw her make her comeback at Charleston's High Water Fest with a friendly face by her side.

Taking to the stage and leaving fans in awe, Lana performed alongside pal and collaborator Jack Antonoff and his band the Bleachers.

Lana's performance at Mita comes just mere days after Taylor Swift dropped a new version of their hit Snow On The Beach.

It was announced last autumn that Lana would feature on Taylor's album Midnights, but fans seemed a little disappointed when the Born To Die singer could only be heard faintly throughout the track.

But just last week, Taylor acknowledged what fans were saying and released a new version of the hit with "more Lana Del Rey" - with the updated version of Snow On The Beach featuring Lana sing an entire verse.

Lana shot to fame in the early 2010s, with the singer soon becoming a globally known and loved musician.

Her debut major label album Born to Die was released in 2012, which contains some of Lana's biggest and greatest hits such as: Summertime Sadness, Born To Die, Video Games, National Anthem and Blue Jeans.

Fans in England will get to see Lana take to the stage this summer, which comes as she gears up perform at Glastonbury Festival, which takes place from June 21 until June 25.
