Someone prepare the flower crowns and put the Diet Mountain Dew on ice because Lana Del Rey and her swamp tour guide boyfriend Jeremy Dufrene have officially tied the knot, just one month after rumours of their romance came to light
According to Daily Mail, the unlikely couple exchanged vows (hopefully Lana sung hers) on Friday during a waterside ceremony in Des Allemandes, Louisiana — the same place where Jeremy operates his popular alligator swamp tours.
Reports describe the exact kind of deeply poetic and romantic affair you’d expect from Lana, who was seen being walked down the aisle by her father, Robert Grant, while holding a floral bouquet. There’s just something in my eye, I promise.
Robert was joined at the ceremony by Lana’s sister Caroline Grant and brother Charlie Hill-Grant, but it’s not yet known whether her mother, Patricia Ann Hill was in attendance.
Lana was wearing a floor-length, white wedding gown with a modest train and her hair styled in a curly ponytail (I say YES to the dress), while Jeremy sported a classic black suit.
The nuptials were held along the public harbour of Des Allemandes, shortly after news that Lana and Jeremy had even obtained a marriage licence was leaked.
According to a clerk at the Lafourche Parish Clerk of Court in Louisiana, Lana and Jeremy picked up the marriage licence at the courthouse this week.
At the time, the clerk told TMZ said that although the paperwork had been picked up, the couple hadn’t returned the marriage licence meaning that weren’t officially married — at least until now.
Lana was first linked to Jeremy in late August when she was spotted holding hands with a man at Leeds Festival in the UK. The couple was also seen shopping in Harrods together and then having a cheeky bevvie at a pub. You know, the typical British experience.
Once the pics started to do the rounds in Lana fan circles and on TikTok, he was identified as Dufrene — a Louisiana-based airboat tour guide and father of two. Super sleuths discovered that he met Lana back in 2019 when she attended one of his tours, posting pictures from their day on the airboat on Instagram.
Once the cat was out of the bag, things got a little bit complicated when an X (formerly Twitter) user named Xae (@strnrtn) claimed that Jeremy was her dad. In a thread, she gave a long-winded story on how she and her family found out.
However, it was later confirmed by Lana that Xae wasn’t Jeremy’s daughter when she commented on a post by a small media outlet called Just N Life about the bonkers scenario and her relationship with Jeremy.
“No,” Lana commented.
“Also, that’s not his daughter on Twitter.”
While many took this to believe that Lana and Jeremy weren’t in a relationship at all, it seems like she’s just saying “no” to all the rumours surrounding X user trying to piggyback off their story for clout. Especially now that it looks like the couple will be tying the knot any day now!
