Lamborghini steals the show as police joke about car meet

A supercar stole the show at a Merseyside car meet.

Merseyside police attended the meet up in St Helens on June 26. Amid the usual Vauxhall Corsas and Ford Fiestas, a bright yellow Lamborghini could be seen cruising the streets of Merseyside.

Police took to social media with a tongue in cheek statement. In a post they said: "Officers from Team 3 were told of a car meet this evening in the St Helens area. We were told there would be lots of nice cars and plenty of donuts...naturally we had to take a look.

"So we polished the 18 inch alloys wheels on the Kia Sportage, cleaned the chrome tail pipe, turned the bass up on the radio and off we went. Has anyone seen that film Fast and the Furious? Well this was nothing like that.

"Sat proudly aside from all the Ford Fiestas, Vauxhall Corsas and Renault Clios, who were sat revving their engines, was this fine piece of Italian engineering. Jokes aside the event went without any incident and most were well behaved, other than a few who had to be advised.

"And they weren't the type of donuts we had in mind."
