Lamar Jackson has been named to The Associated Press 2024 NFL All-Pro Team, beating out Josh Allen. Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson were unanimous choices for the team. Jackson received 30 first-place votes compared to Allen’s 18, marking his second consecutive year and third overall on the team. Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers are the only quarterbacks with more All-Pro nominations in the Super Bowl era than Jackson.
Joining Jackson from the Ravens are linebacker Roquan Smith, slot cornerback Marlon Humphrey, and fullback Patrick Ricard. The Lions, leading the NFC, had four players selected, including wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, right tackle Penei Sewell, safety Kerby Joseph, and punter Jack Fox.
Saquon Barkley received 48 of 50 first-place votes, and Patrick Surtain II received 49 from a nationwide panel of media members. Barkley, who ran for 2,005 yards in his first season with the Eagles, was selected alongside linebacker Zack Baun. Myles Garrett and Fred Warner were chosen for the fourth time, while Buccaneers left tackle Tristan Wirfs became the first player selected at both tackle spots.
Fourteen players are first-timers on the team, including Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers. Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, left guard Joe Thuney, and Broncos right guard Quinn Meinerz round out the offense. Cincinnati’s Trey Hendrickson, who led the league with 17 1/2 sacks, joined Garrett at edge rusher.
Steelers kicker Chris Boswell, Cowboys kick returner KaVontae Turpin, Broncos punt returner Marvin Mims Jr., Patriots special teams ace Brenden Schooler, and Vikings long snapper Andrew DePaola were also selected for the special teams. The voting system for the AP All-Pro Team includes first and second teams, with first-team votes worth 3 points and second-team votes worth 1.
