Lamar Jackson has not and will not play at any point this preseason, including Saturday at Green Bay. However, he will face the Packers on Thursday in the two teams’ joint practice.
The reigning National Football League MVP is undoubtedly raring to go.
“You know [there’s] always things to work on, but I’m definitely ready for the season,” Jackson told reporters on Monday.
“It’s been a great offseason for us, and [I’m] tired of going against my guys. [I’m] looking forward to September 5.”
That’s right, September 5 will be here before you know it, as it’s just 15 days away now. The Ravens open 2024 at Kansas City, taking on the reigning Super Bowl champions and the team that ended their season with an AFC Championship game loss in 2023.
There will be no shortage of reasons to be fired up for this contest, which kicks off three days before the rest of the league.
Jackson, who hasn’t played in the preseason since 2021, already has the juices flowing for this one.
“[We] finally get to go against someone else,” Jackson reiterated.
“Especially [since] I’m not playing [in the] preseason, [it’s] just great to see how we are against other opponents.”
Lamar wants real football to get started just as badly as we do.
